Do not stay up if Want to Slim

There is a kind of myth in society that the body fat caused by sleeping too much. However, a recent medical research states the opposite. People who sleep less tend to be obese.

According to Reuters, we are so emphatically on diet and exercise to combat obesity, to the extent that we forget the value of good sleep. The study, conducted by a medical team from the Eastern Virginia Medical School and involved about 1,000 people showed that the number of hours less sleep will lead to increased body mass index. Body mass index is the division between the height and weight and determines a person's body fat levels in the body.

The study says that men averaged 27 minutes less sleep than women. The patients who suffer from obesity appeared to have fewer hours of sleep than normal patients.

In the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, the study has been published in detail and said that their findings provide the idea that by increasing the hours of sleep a night just 20 minutes can decrease the body mass index. Please note, the reduced hours of sleep a person will cause increased appetite. When the body lacks sleep, there will be an emphasis protein hormone called leptin and cause hunger. This is one of the triggers of hunger at night which makes people look for snacks at midnight.

Thus, the prevailing myth in society that a lot of sleep makes you fat is wrong if viewed in terms of medical.
